Study of an investigational medication
to treat hypertension
General
qualifications:
- Diagnosis of hypertension
- Male or Female
- Age 18 or older
- Willing to taper off or discontinue prior
antihypertensive medications
General
conditions that may prohibit study participation:
- History of heart attack,
hypertensive encephalopathy, stroke or TIA within
the past 6 months
- History of secondary hypertension, including,
but not limited to ; coarctation of
the aorta, renal artery stenosis, pheochromocytoma,
Cushing's syndrome, polycystic kidney
disease
- Pregnant or lactating women
- Poorly controlled Diabetes Type 1 or 2
- History of drug or alcohol abuse
- History of cancer in the past 5 years (not
including certain skin cancers)
- Heart failure or any degree of heart block
- Serious or unstable heart, kidney, or liver
disease
- Use of other investigational medication in
the past 30 days
